Inc., J & J Stone Pit #1, File No. M-2011-004
R.ECEI
JAN 20 Ott
Division of Reciamation,
710 Mining and Safety
The City of Canon City has received notice on the above captioned application to conduct
surface extraction of construction materials and reclamation in Fremont County.
The City previously reviewed information provided by Fremont County relative to their
Conditional Use Permit 10-002 in July of 2010. Our comments at that time were as follows:
1. Plan notes that no FEMA flood areas exist within the CUP boundary, however, the haul route
does cross Four Mile Creek floodplain. Are crossings adequate, and do they meet floodplain
regulations?
2. No traffic information was included in the information provided. Access location to Red
Canyon Road has limited site distance and width for accelerating/deceleratinghming trucks.
3. State Engineer would have to provide permission to impound water or use any water obtained
on-site for process water, or any right to do so by applicant should be provided.
4. Water quality permits will be required: Dewatering, Industrial Wastewater, and Stormwater.
We have no further comments at this time. Thank you for the opportunity for review.
Sincerely,
1"l
Mary Ann Nimmo
Associate Planner
,A L?
