EXHIBIT D - MINING PLAN
Jack Clark Jr
Upper Animas Sand & Gravel - January 2011
This Mining Plan will consist of removing gravel from the various pits using
a rubber tired loader, an excavator, a dragline, a bulldozer, and a 10-wheeled
dump truck. Pits 1 and 2 will be mined simultaneously. Pit 1 has been mined to a
depth of 6 feet, which is just above (approximately 2 feet) the ground water level.
Mining in this pit will start on both the south end and north end using an
excavator and/or a dragline and rubber tired loader, and will progress towards
the center. Gravel will be transported from the excavation site using a rubber
tired loader and a 10-wheeled dump truck to the area in the middle of the permit
area near the access road. The gravel will be stockpiled and allowed to dry.
Eventually the gravel will be transported to the processing area in Pit 2.
Gravel will be excavated from Pit 2 using an excavator, dragline or rubber
tired loader. This material will be transported to the processing area. The area
where Pit 3 and Pit 4 are located will be used as stockpile and batching areas until
Pit 1 and Pit 2 are completely mined out. Pit 1 will be mined 12 to 15 feet deep.
Pit 2 will be mined 35 to 40 feet deep. Ground water is not expected to be
encountered in Pits 2, 3 and 4. Mining will occur 2 feet above ground water
elevation. All slopes will be mined at a 3 to 1 slope.
All topsoil and fines have been removed and stockpiled during previous
mining activities.
The processing area will remain on the southeastern portion of Pit 2 until
the available mining area is completed. Then the processing area will be moved
to the Pit 3 and Pit 4 areas to complete Pit 2 excavation. Pit 3 and Pit 4 will be
mined if needed.
