It seems like a shell game
to me. If anyone trying to mine natural resources has avoided and evaded all local; state and
federal authorities, has done nothing but thumb their noses at proper channels and permits,
has harmed the land needlessly and purposefully and thumbed their noses at local residents;
it seems to me that legally they should not have a leg to stand on.
All the rest of us have to follow the law whether we are hunting game and applying and
receiving permits to do so under strict rules and regulations, driving a car, building a house,
etc. why should mining people have any other way around laws, rules and regulations? I
thought this matter was settled and low and behold there is some loophole that they can re-
apply under some other amendment to some other regulation when they blatantly broke
multiple laws and followed absolutely no due course as they mined the land literally for
years paying no attention to the environment or the rules. I simply do not understand how
this can be: Please do your best to stop this process from happening. I simply do not see how
they could possibly be reconsidered for re-application. It seems like a shell game. In
Nebraska if you want to put in a goose blind you have to okay it with the Game and Park,
Fish and Wildlife and Core of Engineers. And if you don't, then there is no goose blind and
that's just mining sand on a river that is ever changing. How can someone that wants to
mine ore of any kind break all the rules and still be able to proceed. I guess I just don't
understand it and hope that there are proceedings that can take place to put a stop to this.
Please help us out.
Sincerely,
0)li
David N.
