The impoundment inspections were conducted on November 10, 2010. There are three sediment ponds still
maintained at the Edna mine site; West Ridge Pond, Center Ridge Pond, and Moffat Pond. All three pond reports
indicate that the sediment storage level is at least 85% full. The operator also provided inspection reports for thirteen
check dams, numbers 9 through 21. Section 4.6.7 of the Edna mine permit describes the criteria that initiates
sediment removal. The impoundments are in compliance with the permit and Rule 4.05.9(2). There were no
problems identified with any of the inspected check dams. The operator provided a copy of the reports to the Division
in a timely manner. The reports fulfill the requirements of Rule 4.05.9(17).
Sincerely,
Janet H.
Enviro ental Protection Specialist II
(303) 86q-3567 ext. 8107
C:jhb/C80001/Sediment pond reports/4`h Q review.doc
Cc: James Tarazoff, Chevron Mining Inc.
116 Inverness drive East, Suite 207
Englewood, Co 80112
Office of Office of
MinPrl I and Rar lamarinn Denver • Grand lunction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
