Pineda <br />Director <br />On December 29, 2010 the Division received the fourth quarter 2010 Impoundment Inspection report for the Edna <br />Mine. The impoundment inspections were conducted on November 10, 2010. There are three sediment ponds still <br />maintained at the Edna mine site; West Ridge Pond, Center Ridge Pond, and Moffat Pond. All three pond reports <br />indicate that the sediment storage level is at least 85% full. The operator also provided inspection reports for thirteen <br />check dams, numbers 9 through 21. Section 4.6.7 of the Edna mine permit describes the criteria that initiates <br />sediment removal. The impoundments are in compliance with the permit and Rule 4.05.9(2). There were no <br />problems identified with any of the inspected check dams. The operator provided a copy of the reports to the Division <br />in a timely manner.
