Colorado #Harries, /OCR
Colorado Quarries Inc
270 South 15th Street
Canon City CO 81212
(719) 275-6894
(719) 275-2131
January 17, 2011
Colorado Division of Water Resources
Attn: Steve Kastner
310 E Abriendo Ave #B
Pueblo, CO 81004-4226
Dear Steve;
In reference to our Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety inspection on June 17,2010 and my
conversation with you in the fall of 2010. You made the mention that if I could show evidence of there
being historic water at this site, it would probably be exempt.
I have included aerial photos obtained from NRCS dated 1970 and 1999. It is hard to decipher these two
photos other than the pink color all around the pit is rock and the dark spot in the middle is water. The
other two photos came from our office and my estimate is one is approximately 1982 and the other
probably around late 80's or early 90's. Also, while I was at NRCS talking to Rick Romano, he gave me a
card to forward to you, stating himself and Roy Roper would testify to this pit having historic water in
the pit floor.
Should you have any questions regarding this issue, please contact me at 719-588-7916. Thanks in
advance for you help.
Sincerely,
Bill Tezak
Colorado Quarries, Inc
