Pineda
Wildcat Mining Corporation, May Day Mine, Permit No. M-1981-185 Director
Dear Party and/or Interested Person:
On September 29, 2010, the Division received a request from Wildcat Mining Corporation to withdraw
AM-01. Therefore, the application for AM-01 has been withdrawn and the review process for AM-01
has been terminated.
Wildcat Mining Corporation has submitted a new application to convert the existing 110(2) type
operation to a 112d-1 type operation. The conversion application, CN-01, incorporates affected lands
previously associated with the Idaho Mine and/or Idaho Mill into the May Day Mine permit. According
to the application for CN-01, the Applicant proposes to add 264.8 acres to the permit area. As of
January 10, 2011, the review process and associated comment period for CN-01 has commenced.
Please note that comments previously filed in conjunction with AM-01 will not be considered filed in
regard to CN-01. If you wish to comment on CN-01 you must file new comments.
Pursuant to Rule 1.7.1 of the Mineral Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation
Board for Hard Rock, Metal and Designated Mining Operations, any person has the right to submit
written statements supporting or objecting to CN-01. Written comments, protests and/or petitions for a
hearing must contain the name, mailing address and telephone number of the interested parties. In
order to be considered timely, such comments, protests, and petitions must be submitted not more
than 20 days following the fourth publication of the public notice, to be published once a week for four
consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the locality of the proposed operation. If you
are interested in commenting on CN-01, you should check your local newspapers for the above
described notice. The Division anticipates that its decision date for CN-01 will be April 11, 2011.
Please contact me at the Division's office in Durango at 691 County Road 233, Suite A-2, Durango, CO
81301, phone (970) 247-5469, if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Wallace H.
