From: Daniel E Gray [mailto:degray0s.fed.usl
Sent: Tuesday, January 04, 2011 10:23 AM
To: Kaldenbach, Tom
Subject: RE: TR123
Tom: I am sending you the concurrence letter from the Paonia District stating that we have completed our review of
technical revision 123 and do not have any additional concerns apart from the standard design criteria contained in the
record of decision. As we talked about, the two raptor nest locations within a 1/4 mile radius of the E3-45/48.5
development and the E3-25/21/17 development will be surveyed in the spring by John Monarch to determine if the nests
are active for the year and if so a timing restriction will be triggered (no development between Feb 1-Aug 15). This is
contained as Design Criteria 86 in the record of decision (Deer Creek Shaft and E Seam Methane Drainage Wells
Project) and in the GMUG Forest Plan language.
In addition we discussed the cultural resource clearances. A small part of the disturbance that will occur around the E3-
45/48.5 pads and road access had not been covered by previous cultural resource surveys but I surveyed the area and
didn't find any concerns and forwarded this info to Leigh Ann Hunt the Forest Archaeologist. She has already or is in the
process of sending a letter to SHPO stating that no cultural resource concerns were identified associated with TR123 and
is awaiting a concurrence letter from them.
Thanks
Dan
***Email Disclaimer: The information contained in this e-mail, and in any accompanying documents, may constitute
confidential and/or legally privileged information.
