There have been 6 total Small Area Exemptions on the permit area. SAE #2 has been eliminated
so that there are 5 SAE's as of the Mid Term Review of 2006. The Permit Revision 06 eliminates
all remaining SAE's with the exception of the topsoil stripping area ahead of the pit. This means
SAE's #1 -5 are no longer present in the reclamation plan. However, for the sake of consistency,
SAE #6 will still be used to refer to the area of topsoil stripped in advance of the pit.
SAE #6 is designed to detain all runoff from the narrow strip of land in advance of the pit where
topsoil stripping is taking place. This width is approximately 100 feet and runs the entire width of
the cut from north to south. WFC commits to placing a portion of the topsoil that is being stripped
in a continuous berm at the western edge of the pit disturbance for sediment control of this area.
The berm will be a minimum of 4 feet high with sideslopes of 2HAV. See Map 2.05.3 -1 which
shows the berm in relation to the entire pit cross section.
Revised January 2010 (PR06) Attachment 2.05.3(3) -7 -2
