5 - The seeding mix and rate will be the same as used elsewhere on the site.
6 - The seeding has been finished. The conditions of the revegetation will be
monitored and the success will be reported in the annual reports. A Bamberg
Ecological memo dated June 4, 2010 describing the revegetation status in May
2010 is attached and will also be included in the next annual report.
7 - The topsoil respreading task has been completed. A stockpile of
topsoil/growth material is located between the fines piles. This will be used to
complete a similar mosaic distribution of growth material for revegetation.
8 - A stockpile of topsoil/growth material is located between the fines piles. This
will be used to complete a similar mosaic distribution of growth material for
revegetation. It is anticipated the piles would be revegetated using the same
seeding mix and rate as used elsewhere on the site.
9 - Grading and backfilling, including the pit. This grading has been completed.
The pit was partially backfilled, slopes of 3:1 or less were completed.
10 - Exhibit F - Reclamation Map. A revised map which shows the required
topographic information as well as pertinent locations will be provided.
11 - Noxious Weed Plan. The memo describing the revegetation status as of
May 2010 notes that the noxious weed patches comprised of Canada thistle and
Russian knapweed which were observed during a 2005 site visit were
subsequently sprayed and had been successfully eradicated as noted by the
Bamberg Ecological November 2009 survey. The attached Bamberg Ecological
memo dated June 4, 2010 notes that no additional areas of noxious weeds were
observed. Some basal leaf sprouting of Canada thistle was observed. This
sprouting was subsequently sprayed with a 2,4-D compound. Monitoring and
treatment activities will be included in the next annual report.
Please call me at 208.769.4112 if you have any questions.
Sin ly,
Paul L Glader
Manager Environmental Services
MWCA, Inc./ Hecla Limited
