Box 467
Golden, CO 80402
Re: Keenesburg Mine, Permit No. C-1981-028
Annual and Fourth Quarter 2010 Pond Inspection Report
Dear Mr. MacDonald:
Mike King
Executive Director
Loretta E. Pineda
Director
The Division received Coors Energy Company's Annual and Fourth Quarter 2010 Pond Inspection report
on January 10, 2010. The report indicates that CEC conducted inspections on December 16, 2010.
The Division has reviewed this report and did not find any cause for concern related to the ponds. No
discharge from any of the ponds was reported, and no structural issues were identified. Only one
maintenance issue was identified: the report indicates that vegetation at the sewage lagoon is inadequate.
However, a recent inspection by the Division resulted in a determination that the sewage lagoon poses no
threat to public safety or environmental health. At that time (November 4, 2010), you indicated that this
pond is no longer in use. Thus, this potential maintenance issue is not considered a significant problem.
This report meets the requirements of Rules 4.05.9(14) and 4.05.9(17). Thank you for your submittal:
Sincerely,
r?y Z -
Robert Zuber, P.E.
Environmental Protection Specialist
(303) 866-3567, ext. 8113
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive.Mines
