Zuber, Rob
From: Emmons, Jeff [Jeff.Emmons@dphe.state.co.us]
Sent: Wednesday, January 12, 2011 2:53 PM
To: Zuber, Rob
Subject: Trapper Mine- Ra 226 testing frequency
I had the original Design and Operation Plan for the Trapper Mine pulled from our storage in Denver.
While I was on the telephone with the head of our permitting group, I had him rummage through file and he found the
original groundwater monitoring plan. The plan had a schedule A which included metals, anions, and cations which are
required to be sampled annually. Radium 226 is included on Schedule A.
Thus, according to CDPHE, it is expected that Radium 226 is to be sampled annually.
Sorry, it took so long to get to the bottom of this. I hope this information and your discussions with Graham Roberts
EHS Specialist with Trapper Mine (970-826-6143) will end the confusion.
Any questions, give me a call.
Thanks
Jeff Emmons
Environmental Specialist
Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment
Hazardous Materials &Waste Management Division
222 South 6th Street, Room 232
Grand Junction, CO 81501
Phone: (970) 248-7168 Fax: (970) 248-7168
Email: jeff.emmons@state.co.us
