The area was excavated down to 25 feet below finish grade and no
working or voids were encountered. John Lupo, P.E. Project Sponsor, stated that there is no
historic evidence of a working in the area. The excavated area will be backfilled as structural fill
placement progresses, through this area. No additional remediation is required for this working.
Confirmatory drilling was performed for Underground Working #3012. A drill pattern was set out
by an AMEC field representative. Fourteen holes were drilled encountering three voids. An
approximate total of 700 feet was drilled. An AMEC representative observed the confirmatory
drilling constantly. It will be necessary to remediate the lower portion of the working before any
further drilling can be performed to the east. Temporary fill material will need to be placed over
the working to gain access to the east side of the working. The crown pillar will be collapsed by
blasting and excavated. The working will then be remediated per plan. Prior to any remediation all
Temporary fill will be removed
Confirmatory drilling was performed for Underground Working #3013. A drill pattern was set out
by an AMEC field representative. Thirty-five holes were drilled encountering no voids. An
VLF Weekly Report WE 02.13.10.D.doc
