PERMIT #: M-1977-567
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: RCO
INSPECTION DATE: December 3, 2010
Revegetation:
No revegetation has been carried out on the site. No noxious weeds were observed anywhere on the site.
Signs and Markers:
The boundaries are marked and all activity is contained within the permitted area. The operator should
replace the missing permit ID sign (near the NE entrance gate). See Construction Materials Rule 3.1.12 for the
required wording of the sign.
Topsoil:
There is a clear horizon of topsoil visible around the pit margins. All topsoil is to be stripped ahead of mining,
and stockpiled for use in reclamation. Stockpile locations are approved for the east and south sides of the pit.
The topsoil is present there, although it is not vegetated (presumably due to cattle on the site). The operator
must ensure that all topsoil is stripped and salvaged just ahead of any mining or other disturbance to occur
that year, so that no topsoil is lost or degraded due to pit walls sloughing, excavation, or other mining
activities.
For all questions about this report, please contact the inspector at the Division's Durango field office:
Bob Oswald
DRMS
691 CR 233, Room A-2
Durango, CO 81301
Inspection Contact Address
Randy Arredondo
Saguache County Road and Bridge
PO Box 476
Saguache, CO 81149
See inspection photos on following page.
