The above-mentioned site has had one or more problems noted that, according to Division of
Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) records have not yet been resolved. According to our
records, the following problems were to be resolved on or before December 17, 2010. Listed
below are descriptions and corrective actions for the problem(s). Please resolve the corrective
actions and provide evidence of such resolution on or before January 21, 2011.
Please note that if the corrective action(s) are not properly addressed, and evidence provided to
the Division by the date provided above, the listed problems could be escalated to the level of
possible violations and would then be referred to the Mined Land Reclamation Board for further
action.
Compliance Problem:
• Mine entrance sign was not clearly marked per Rule 3.1.12(2) which requires the
operator to clearly label the mine entrance.
• Diffuse knapweed was observed at the site.
Corrective Action:
The operator shall clearly mark the mine entrance and submit photographic evidence
of this.
The Operator must create a weed control and management plan per Rule 3.1.10(6).
This plan should be developed in consultation with the county extension agency, or
weed control district office, and should include specific control measures to be applied,
a schedule of when the control measures will be applied, and a post-spray monitoring
plan.
