Pursuant to your letter to GCC dated December 8, 2008, semi-annual groundwater
monitoring is required with results to be submitted annually.
Groundwater sampling was conducted on April 30, 2010 and October 26, 2010. We received the report
from the October sampling event on December 11, 2010. Two copies of this report are enclosed with this
letter. Copies of the report of the April sampling event were submitted to you on July 1, 2010.
The following monitoring wells were sampled in April and October:
• MW-002
• MW-003
• MW-004
Samples were not collected from deep well MW-001A and shallow well MW-005 in 2010. Both of these
wells were determined to be dry in 2008.
The table below presents the numeric protection levels (NPLs) established by DRMS in your December 8,
2010 letter and the concentrations measured in the groundwater samples in April and October. None of
the sample concentrations exceeded the DRMS NPL.
MW-002 MW-003 MW-004
DRMS
NPL
April 30,
2010
October
26, 2010
April 3300,
2010
October
26, 2010
April
2010 October

26, 2010
TDS, m /l 2630 1630 1930 960 2590 2440 2180
Sulfate, m /l 1950 810 950 407 1220 1250 1050
R-226, PiC/I 23.5 4.1 3.0 6.8 1.5 1.9 4.9
R-228, PiC/I 12.3 1.9 2.0 1.8 1.9 1.2 5.0
GCC Rio Grande, Inc. • Pueblo Plant
3372 Lime Road •Pueblo, Colorado 81004
(719) 647-6800 • Fax (719) 647-6899
