Class IIIInventory, Colowyo's Collom Mine Project 137
4 A 0 ,
The debitage assemblage consists of 12 flakes (11 tertiary flakes and one secondary flake). Opaque
cherts are the most common material type with seven tertiary flakes. The remainder consists of two
white opaque chert tertiary flakes, two nonvolcanic glass flakes (one tertiary flake and one secondary
flake), and one quartzite tertiary flake.
The mano fragment is an incomplete quartzite cobble that exhibits one moderately ground face and
measures 8.1 P x 8.7 x 4.0 cm.
The site was not tested because it is located on eroding regolith with no'potential for subsurface
cultural deposits.
NRHP Eligibility Recommendation and Project Effect Site 5MF6090 is recommended as not
eligible for listing on the NRHP when evaluated under Criterion D. The site is a surface
manifestation that consists of an artifact scatter with a low density diversity of artifacts. No dateable
cultural features or temporally diagnostic artifacts were identified. The site is located on eroding
regolith with no potential to contain intact subsurface significant cultural deposits.
The site occurs within the mine permit boundary, but it is not eligible for the NRHP, and the project
will have no effect. Cultural resource clearance is recommended, with no further work.
6.1.33 Site 5MF6091 (jWP -S -2)
Site Tyne Open camp
Legal Location Section 19, T4N, R93W
Landowner BLM
Site Dimensions 87 x 32 in
Site Descriptio Site 5MF6091 is an open camp located in a narrow ridge break at 7,040 ft
(2,146 m) (Figure 6.74).
