Recordation has exhausted the research potential <br />of the site. <br />The site lies within the mine permit boundary, but it is not eligible for the NRHP. Therefore, the <br />current project: will have no effect. Cultural resource clearance is recommended, with no further <br />work. <br />6.1.23 Site 5MF6081 (8 -13/1) <br />Site Tyne Lithic scatter <br />Legal Locatio Section 13, T4N, R94W <br />Landowner Private <br />Site Dimensio 145 x 63 in <br />Site Descripti Site 5MF6081 is a diffuse prehistoric lithic scatter located on the spine of a <br />northeast - trending ridge between Morgan and Collom Gulches at 6,840 ft (2,085 m) (Figure 6.49). <br />The ridge slopes away to the northeast and opens onto Axial Basin. The immediate site area slopes <br />gently east and northeast toward Collum Gulch (Figure 6.50). Exposures of bedrock occur <br />throughout the general area and within the site proper. On -site sediment consists of shallow aeolian <br />silty sand mixed with eroding bedrock gravel and detritus. The vegetation community consists of <br />sagebrush, rabbitbrush, cheatgrass, low grasses, various forbs, and prickly pear cactus. Impacts to <br />the site include: vehicle traffic along a two -track road that passes through the south part of the site, <br />erosion, and livestock trampling. <br />The lithic scatter consists of one flake tool and 25 flakes. The flake tool is a utilized ignimbrite <br />tertiary flake that measures 2.8 x 2.0 x 0.3 cm and exhibits usewear along the distal margin. The <br />debitage assemblage consists of 25 flakes comprised of 24 tertiary flakes and one secondary flake. <br />White opaque chert is the most common material type with 20 flakes (19 tertiary flakes and one <br />• <br />47599 TRC Mariah Associates Inc. <br />
