If this site density is extrapolated for the approximately 9,452 acres that were not previously inventoried for the current project, 88.3 new cultural resources would be expected to be discovered. RAW MATERIAL TYPES The material type of all flaked stone artifacts was recorded relative to a standardized list of raw material types established by the BLM Little Snake Resource Area (Table 4.1). Every effort was made in the field to identify these material types when possible. The discussion provided below in Section 7.0 synthesizes the results of those efforts. Examination of previously recorded site information was compared with the standardized material types and, where possible, changed accordingly. Working with the old information produced mixed and uneven results. Much of the information was too vague for meaningful extrapolation.
