REPORT SUMMARY
1 INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr Juan Garcia, Colowyo Coal Corporation (CCC), the author visited the
CCC's mine during the period 14 -24 March 2005, in order to review the status of the Collom
geological database and associated geological data. Specific items that were identified for
review included the following:
• Diamond Drilling — Check the reliability and accuracy of the data transferred into the
new Access database.
QA /QC Procedures for the above — Review the QA/QC procedures for data
capture /entry in the above databases.
• Geological Model — Briefly review the MineScape geological models and comment
on suitability for resource estimation.
The author would like to thank the personnel at CCC for the assistance given, especially by
Bob Young, Alan Jorgenson, Juan Garcia, Alex Papp, Dwight Kinnes and Brant Dennis, in
helping to complete this review.
Data review and validation were mainly undertaken using Microsoft Excel.
• 2 `ORIGINAL DATA' STORAGE
As part of the data review it was necessary to refer to the original drilling data. Storage of
this information is currently adequate, both in terms of location and security. This type of
information (including drilling logs, analytical data, interpretations, etc) is the foundation for
any geological model. These data are safely and logically stored in fire retardant cabinets on
the basement floor in the Lower Administration Building.
A series of NN holes (Table 2.1) were selected at random from a plan of the drill hole
locations. CCC provided a printout of the lithology and coal qualities on a seam -by -seam
basis of both ply and composite data, for these holes. The original data for each of these
holes were extracted from the fire retardant cabinets. Header and lithology data in the print
outs were checked against the original data in the 'hard copy' file. No errors were noted.
0
RIO
TINTO
BR3273: FINAL Version: 1
