Collom Area Geology Pre - Feasibility Report
In March 2005, Rio Tinto Technical Services (RTTS) performed a geological
database audit of the Collom drill hole data. In response to a
recommendation from the geological audit, RTTS performed a geostatistical
review of the Collom drill hole data with respect to the Colowyo mine data.
The RTTS geostatistical review stated that the drilling data through 2004
satisfied RTTS requirements for Pre - Feasibility level development of the CMA.
The study further stated that a drill hole spacing of approximately 2,000 feet
is required for Feasibility level development of the CMA.
The estimated in -place measured and indicated controlled and uncontrolled
recoverable coal resource of the Collom Resource Area is 456.6 million tons.
The estimated in -place measured and indicated controlled and uncontrolled
coal resource within the CMA is 183.8 million tons
The estimated controlled coal resource of the CMA is 74.1 million tons. The
• estimated uncontrolled coal resource of the CMA is 109.6 million tons.
The estimated controlled and uncontrolled mineable proven and probable
reserve within the CMA is 157.1 million tons The estimated 'Product"
quality for the CMA is 16.22% Moisture, 6.44% Ash, 10,450Btu /ib, 0.47%
Total Sulfur, and Reducing Hemispherical Fusion Temperature (AFT) of
2,499.
The estimated controlled coal reserve within the CMA pit is 60.1 million
recoverable tons. The estimated uncontrolled reserve of the CMA pit is 97.0
million tons.
The mercury content of CMA is less than 0.05 g /mg, which makes the Collom
coal among the lowest in the USA.
August 2005 Page ii
ryf
