102 Considerations for feasibility and permitting
*a
• Bedrock groundwater — Continue monthly water level measurements and
quarterly groundwater sampling.
• Piezometers — Monthly water level measurements.
C
•
8.2.3 Water quality data evaluation
Data collected during the pre - feasibility study should be evaluated more rigorously once
a larger data set is available to. characterize seasonal variation in water quality and flow.
It is important to do a thorough job on this aspect of the mine permit application, as this
will be the baseline data set that all potential impacts will be judged against.
Historic data available from the Collom area have been incorporated into the
pre - feasibility report. However, these data has not been rigorously checked for quality
control.
8.2.4 Alluvial valley fills
A summary of existing information relevant to AVFs is provided in Section 4 of this
report. It is likely that additional evaluations will be needed to update the existing AVF
information and to support the permitting documents.
8.2.5 Mine closure and reclamation
Hydrologic aspects of mine closure and reclamation need to be evaluated for the permit.
This includes the re- saturation behavior of the backfilled pits, water quality, potential
spoil seeps down - gradient of the pits and long -term effects on surface water drainages.
2572 -R2 Colowyo Coal Company
Water Management Consultants
