The
grading left an irregular surface which is helping to keep moisture on the slope and promote revegetation and
inhibit gullying.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 ? EDrainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,
4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water
Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage - Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8;
Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
The sediment pond at the reclaimed run-of-mine coal stockpile area was dry. The well grassed pond
embankment appeared to be stable. The manual gate on the primary discharge pipe was closed. There was no
blockage of the open channel, riprapped emergency spillway. The collection ditch leading into the sediment pond
had sufficient capacity. The silt fence that lines the gulch could use some maintenance, although the disturbed area
is well grassed.
ROADS - Rule 4.03 ? Ej Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) ? 7 Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) L] L1 Surfacing and
Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6)? ?Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7):
The entrance road to the site was graveled and in good condition. The cable was across the road but the
middle portion was resting on the ground.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
The reclamation of the site was holding up well. The backfill was stable and the irregular surface could
retain moisture and retard erosion. There was a good cover of vegetation on the reclaimed disturbed area.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 4
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 4
