Pineda
Director
Coors Energy Company (CEC) provided responses to the Division's 2009 Annual Reclamation Report Review
on April 27, 2010. Janet Binns of the Division has the following comments related to your 2009 Annual
Reclamation Report:
• Item number 1 identified a variance in the seeding rates used to seed reclamation area 31 versus
what was shown in the approved permit found in the Division's imaged database. Upon further
investigation, the Division finds that CEC used the appropriate seed mix and seeding rate for
reclamation area 31. The Division was looking at an outdated version of the seed mix. No further
response is required from CEC.
• CEC provided a thorough and adequate response to the Division's item number 2 regarding
volume discrepancies of the long term spoil. No further response is necessary for the 2009 Annual
Reclamation Report. If the long term spoil reporting volume continues to show slight discrepancies in
mass balance, this should be noted in comments for the 2010 Annual Reclamation Report.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me at (303) 866-3567, extension 8113.
Sincerely, ,
Robert Zuber, P.E.
Environmental Protection Specialist
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
