Addendum to the Collom Area Geology Pre - Feasibility Report
•
U
n
U
It should be noted that Inventory Coal is not part of the JORC code.
Inventory Coal simply states the volume of coal in the ground where specific
geological data exists to support such statements.
The "Australian Guidelines for Estimating and Reporting of Inventory Coal,
Coal Resources and Coal Reserves" document fully defines each of these
terms. However, the following excerpts briefly define each term:
"Inventory Coal is any occurrence of coal in the ground that can be
estimated and reported with necessarily being constrained by economic
potential, geological, or other factors. By definition, it includes all Coal
Resources. The location, quantity, quality, geological characteristics and
continuity of Inventory Coal are known, estimated or interpreted from
specific geological evidence and knowledge ".
"Inventory Coal is sub - divided in order of increasing geological confidence
into inferred, indicated and measured categories."
"Coal Resource is that portion of a deposit in such form and quantity that
there are reasonable prospects for eventual economic extraction."
"Coal Reserve is the economically mineable part of a Measured or Indicated
Coal Resource."
The resource class definitions as well as classification distances outlined
above have changed since the "2005 Report" was written. Therefore, direct
comparison of the resource and reserve estimates made from this report to
the "2005 Report" must be carefully considered.
September 2006
Mi
■
