u <br />Historic Properties Treatment Plan, Collom Mine, Colorado 25 <br />4 1/16 inches high and 4 inches in diameter, and one measures 4 1/2 inches high x 3 3/8 inches <br />in diameter), an external friction baking powder lid, one rubber shoe sole, one colorless screw <br />cap bottle finish with partial neck, a rectangular pepper can (2 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches), a colorless <br />glass bottle body and partial base fragment, and a rectangular fuel can. Additionally, several <br />bottles with maker's marks were recorded, including a colorless glass bottle with screwtop with <br />"H.J. Heinz Company Patent 211 8." <br />NRHP Eligibility Recommendation Site 5MF6098 is recommended as potentially eligible <br />for listing on t:he NRHP. Four prehistoric features are present along the floodplain of Collom <br />Creek and the deep alluvial silty -clay loam sediment is at least 7 m deep along Collom Creek. <br />Subsurface testing and data recovery excavations are required to determine the nature and extent <br />of these subsurface deposits. The scope of work is included in Section 4.4 below. Based on the <br />research design, questions concerning feature and lithic technology, as well as site activities may <br />be addressed at this site. <br />The historic component at Site SMF6098 is recommended as non - contributing to the site's <br />NRHP eligibility. It is not associated with significant national, regional, or local historic events. <br />It was settled relatively late (during the 1920s), and does not factor into settlement during <br />the territorial period or early Colorado statehood. It is not associated with an individual(s) <br />(Minnie Bivens or Silas Tong) of extraordinary historic significance. The building and <br />structures on the site are in ruins, have poor physical integrity, and possess no significant <br />engineering or architectural attributes of design, materials, or workmanship. The materials are <br />of local origin. The historic component of the site has no potential to further the understanding <br />of local or regional historic settlement and subsistence, domestic activities, or socioeconomic <br />patterns. <br />47599 TRC Mariah Associates Inc. <br />
