Surface water 33 <br />Springs in Little Collom Gulch produce widely divergent water types. SPRLC -01 <br />produces a calcium /magnesium- bicarbonate water with a TDS of 1,720 and pH of 7.18. <br />At SPRLC -02, the water is a calcium /magnesium- bicarbonate, with a TDS of 770 and pH <br />of 7.48. SPRLC-03 produces an unusual water for the area — a sodium bicarbonate, <br />with a TDS of 1,470 and a pH of 7.81. <br />Spring water from the upper reaches of Collom Gulch (SPRC -01) is a magnesium/ <br />calcium- sulfate water, with a TDS of 1,780 mg /I and a mildly alkaline pH of 7.7. The <br />sample for this location exceeded the drinking water MCL for selenium (MCL is 0.05 and <br />detected value is 0.051 mg /1). Further down Colom Gulch at SPRC -02, the water is a <br />magnesium- bicarbonate water. The TDS was 760 mg /I and the pH was 8.66. Closer to <br />the axis of the syncline, the sample from SPRC -03 produces a calcium /magnesium- <br />bicarbonate /sulfate water with a TDS of 1,060 and a pH of 7.19. Further downstream, <br />SPRC -04 produces a calcium /magnesium- bicarbonate water with a TDS of 1,050 and a <br />pH of 7.18. <br />The water quality of sample from SPRS -01 in Spring Creek is a magnesium - <br />sulfate /bicarbonate.
