December 28, 2010 C- 1981 - 041 /Roadside Portals MPB
The North Decline area was inspected. There was a small rock fall from the cut slope of the North Decline Road
that has occurred since the time of the last inspection. A small amount of groundwater is seeping out of the cut
slope of the road as previously noted in a few isolated locations. The rock fall did not cause any significant
damage and the road was still passable.
The 2 -West Portals and Compressor /Substation sites were inspected. Vegetative cover is sparse at the portal sites
themselves. The silt fence at the southernmost portal site is in need of repair. The top of the fence has come loose
(see attached Photograph No. 4) but the silt fence is still well keyed in and functional. Given the pending
snowstorm, the site will likely not be accessible again until next spring. All of these locations are stable and no
significant problems were identified.
No problems were noted at any of the support facility locations during this inspection.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 3
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 4 of 8
