Coors Energy Company provided responses to the Division's 2009 Annual Reclamation Report Review (dated
April 1, 2010) on April 27, 2010. The Division had identified 2 items of concern in the April 1, 2010 review
letter. Item No. 1 identified a variance in the seeding rates used to seed reclamation area 31 versus what was
shown in the approved permit found in the Division's imaged database.
Upon further investigation the Division finds that the operator used the appropriate seed mix and seeding rate
for reclamation area 31. The Division was looking at an outdated version of the seed mix. CEC used the most
up to date, approved seed mix for seeding reclamation area 31. No further response is required from the
operator.
Coors Energy Company provided a thorough and adequate response to the Division's item no. 2 regarding
volume discrepancy of the long term spoil. GEC's response is acceptable. The Division agrees with the
operator that volume discrepancies be noted in the record (annual reclamation reports) and subsequent year(s)
data be evaluated to determine if the variance remain constant, increase, evens out, or requires further
investigation. No further response is necessary for the 2009 Annual Reclamation Report. If the Long Term
Spoil reporting volume continues to show slight discrepancies in mass balance, this should be noted in
comments for the 2010 annual reclamation report.
