Gable, and strikes 260-270°, dips 80-85° to the south, and will continue to be <br />exposed as the pit deepens (Figure 3). <br />In the expansion area, Gable (1968) mapped a fault that also trends roughly east <br />to west and may form a structural block that results in distinguishable <br />discontinuity clusters from the main part of the quarry. This fault is currently <br />being exposed as the sixth bench is advancing (Figure 3), and is noted by a <br />distinct pegmatite vein that is surrounded by decomposed weak biotite rich <br />gneiss (Photo 2). The dip of the fault zone is unknown at this time, but it is <br />anticipated that we will obtain more information on the structural character of this <br />feature as the mining progresses. <br />-6-
