Piheda
Director
Re: Airport Corner Pit, Permit M-2007-057, Succession of Operator Revision SO-01, Bond Recalculation.
Dear Mr. Parker,
This office is reviewing the Succession of Operator application you recently submitted for the permit named above.
Part of our process requires that the reclamation costs are updated and the required bond amount adjusted
accordingly. At the time of permit application approval three years ago the reclamation cost estimate was $13,393,
as stated in the permit approval letter and reflected in the Division's bond estimate packet. (Note: That amount
included $500 to cover financial warranty processing costs, typically required for bonds in the form of letters of
credit. The amount of bond provided by you in 2007 is $13,893, which is $500 more than the amount required.) '
The Division's current bond estimate total is $14,163, which also includes the necessary $500 for bond processing.
This new total is $770 higher than the original total of $13,393. However, since the current amount of bond posted is
actually $13,893, the real amount of increase to be additionally provided is only $270.
The updated reclamation cost estimate is in the enclosed packet, which you should review promptly and contact me if
you note any errors or omissions. The same earthwork quantities, acreages, and types of equipment are used in the
new estimate, but fuel, labor and rental rates are the items that increased.
The Succession of Operator request is approved but the change will not become final until the new bond is submitted
and accepted by the Division. Please be reminded that a complete new bond is required, under the new operator's
name, before the first bond can be released. New bond forms are available on our website: www.mining.state.co.us.
If you have questions about a bond form itself, or the Succession of Operator, please contact Mary Rodriguez at the
Division's Denver office (see letterhead, above). If you have questions about this letter or the enclosed reclamation
cost packet, I may be reached at the Division's Durango field office: 691 CR 233, Room A-2, Durango, CO 81301.
Sincerely,
Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
STATE OF COLORADO,
,iV
COLORADO
DIVISION O F
RECLAMATION
MINING
SAFETY
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction Durango Active and Inactive Mines
