amen
Earth & Environmental
truck (when necessary). Each lift was compacted with a 10-ton smooth drum vibratory
compactor passing over the entire surface at least 4 times (method compaction technique is
applicable).
Structural fill was placed between stations K8+00 (+/-) and K14+00 (+/-), approximately 100
to 300 feet right of centerline. Structural fill was placed using CAT dozers in 18" to 24" lifts
(based on rock size). Moisture conditioning of the fill was performed using a CAT 773-water
truck (when necessary). Each lift was compacted with a 10-ton smooth drum vibratory
compactor passing over the entire surface at least 4 times (method compaction technique is
applicable).
Drilling and blasting was performed between stations A6+50 (+/-) and A8+50 (+/-),
approximately 20 to 75 feet right of centerline and between stations Al 1+50 (+/-) and A12+00
(+/-), approximately 20 to 75 feet right of centerline. Drilling was performed using two track
mounted drill rigs. The area between A6+50 (+/-) and A8+50 (+/-) was shot Friday, 8/14/2009.
H) Material Processing
1) South Cresson Clay Processing Area
Processing of Soil Liner Fill material continued at the South Cresson Clay Processing area. A
CAT D-6 dozer, a CAT 330 excavator, and a CAT 966 front-end loader were used to process
the material.
Location This (tons) Cumulative Comments
So Cresson Clay Processing 7,878 66,961
Squaw Gulch Processing 0 35,816 Processing in area complete.
Total 7,878 102,777
I) New ADR Water Tank
The trench for the new ADR waterline was performed from stations A22+50 (+/-) working toward
the northeast using a CAT 345 excavator. Pipe bedding was hauled from the Arequa Process area
to the trench using 40-ton articulating haul trucks loaded by a CAT 966 front-end loader. The
bedding was placed in the bottom of the trench and compacted using the excavator bucket (CEntry
specification).
Ten-inch HDPE pipe was fused for the new ADR waterline at the Ames lay down yard.
Approximately 200-foot runs were fused and will be placed in the trench at a later date. A CAT
966 front-end loader and a CAT 345 excavator were used to assist the fusion.
.l) Miscellaneous
No work performed during the week.
III) Underground Workings
A) Drilling
No work performed during the week.
VLF Weekly Report WE 08.15.09.D.doc
