EXHIBIT B <br />BURGESS PIT <br />SITE DESCRIPTION <br />This site is :located 9.0 miles north and 3 miles east of Limon, Colorado and is located on <br />the Arikaree River at an approximate elevation of 5,560 feet. The site drains to the north <br />and east Most of the slopes are flatter than a 4:1 but some of the banks of the Arikaree <br />River are quite steep. The land surrounding the immediate pit area is composed of gently <br />rolling hills. The will be mining activities adjacent to and in the channel of the Arickaree <br />River. <br />Vegetation in this area consists mainly of a mixture of native grasses and forbs on the <br />upland site. The primary grasses consist of blue grama buffalo and prairie three awn. The <br />soil survey map report for this site shows that the site is primarily composed of the Table <br />Mountain Complex; the Table Mountain portion are loamy soils while some Orsan soil <br />portion of this complex makes up the sandy/gravelly soils. Slopes vary from 0 to 2 per- <br />cent. <br />Topsoil is approximately 6 inches thick some areas in the affected area have no topsoil <br />and the over burden is 1 to 2 feet thick. In some areas sand and gravel is mixed with the <br />topsoil. <br />There are no man made structures located within 200 feet of the proposed operation. <br />There is no major wildlife in the area; nor any endangered species that would be <br />impacted. <br />2
