As you know, Climax is removing seoinvents at Robinson
Lake in accordance with Technical Revision No. 16 to Permit No.,Nl-1977-493. The
dewatering activities are consistent with those described in Technical Revision No. 16.
However, due to soft ground conditions it will be necessary to temporarily place rock
material as a land bridge for vehicles to access portions of the soft lake bed for
installation of dewatering equipment. After dewatering activities are completed in the
next few months, Climax will remove all of the overburden material and will either place
it back onto the E or F overburden storage facilities, or we will place it within the
confines of the Tenmile tailing storage facility. As you requested, Climax will closely
monitor the removal activities and will minimize any slimes from the lake bed that may
adhere to the overburden material before it is placed back onto the overburden storage
facilities.
We appreciate the Division's guidance in this matter. Please feel free contact me at 719-
486-7584 with any further comments or questions.
Sincerely,
r
Raymond Lazuk
Environmental Manager
c: File
