In accordance with
4.05.2(2), the 2009 approvals of TR -10 and MR -11 incorporated a soil loss demonstration
into the permit (pages 2.05 -8 thru 2.05- 8vii). The impounding structure has been
obliterated, the pond basin regraded, and vegetation (including tamarisk plants) has been
removed from the floor of the pond (Photo 1).
• The northern end of Pond B, adjacent to the dam, was covered with a pool of water that
appeared to be partially frozen (Photo 2).
RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
• Tamarisk plants appear to have been removed from within Pond B (Photo 2), in accordance
with the permit's weed control plan found on pages 2.05 -25 and 25i of the permit, (The
landowner has requested that Pond B be retained as a permanent impoundment.)
TOPSOIL — Rule 4.06 - Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection
4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4:
• Topsoil stockpile 92, located on the south side of the road to Mining Area No. 3 and west of
the natural drainage bisecting the permit area, appears to have been recently disturbed (Photo
3). This material was likely used to topsoil the disturbed area created by reclamation
activities at Pond A. A bulldozer and excavator were parked adjacent to the stockpile.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 4
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2 Page 2 of 6
