The <br />mining and operations area is bounded on the south by AA Road, on the west by 2600 <br />_ Road, on the north by Z Road and on the east by 2650 Road. The SUP also covers a 50' <br />wide by 4100' long strip of land through the NW 1 A and the N 1 /2 SW 1 A Section 3 6, <br />T47N, RI 6W, NMPM. See Sheet 2 of 6, Exhibit A, for the location of the proposed <br />Mine area relative to the Town of Nucla and surrounding area. <br />2.1 Mining Plan <br />Existing Conditions <br />The proposed mining permit area is a typical rural area with a variety of uses and <br />conditions. The area generally consists of three small farms. The farms generally <br />include undisturbed sagebrush, dry land pasture, irrigated pasture, and a homestead area. <br />There are areas classified as wetlands adjacent to drainages that cross the farms. A <br />portion of the southern end was mined during previous strip mining operations and the <br />area is bounded by County roads.
