Pineda <br />Colorado/Gunnison Basin Office Director <br />400 Rood Avenue, Room 142 <br />Grand Junction, CO 81501-2563 <br />Re: McClane Canyon Mine (Permit No. C-1980-004) <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 7 (RN-7) <br />Dear Sir or Madam: <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on December 13, 2010, an application to renew an <br />existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the McClane Canyon Mine was considered complete for the <br />purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act <br />and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />McClane Canyon Mining, LLC has submitted an application for renewal of a valid existing permit to conduct coal <br />mining and reclamation for its McClane Canyon Mine, Permit No. C-1980-004. McClane Canyon Mine is an <br />operating underground mine on land located approximately 19 miles north of Loma., Colorado along State <br />Highway 139. The current permit will expire on July 6, 2011. McClane Canyon Mining, LLC proposes to <br />continue underground coal mining and/or reclamation operations and the application requests successive renewal <br />of the permit for an additional five year permit term. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 3, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, and 34, T7S, R102W, 6th PM, all in Garfield County <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Howard Canyon & Garvey <br />Canyon. <br />A copy of the renewal-' application is available for public inspection at the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder, 544 <br />Rood Avenue, Grand Junction, CO 81502, and at the Division office.
