Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article <br />33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on December 13, 2010, an application <br />to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the McClane Canyon Mine was considered <br />complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface <br />Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />McClane Canyon Mining, LLC has submitted an application for renewal of a valid existing permit to <br />conduct coal mining and reclamation for its McClane Canyon Mine, Permit No. C-1980-004. McClane <br />Canyon Mine is an operating underground mine on land located approximately 19 miles north of Loma, <br />Colorado along State Highway 139. The current permit will expire on July 6, 2011. McClane Canyon <br />Mining, LLC proposes to continue underground coal mining and/or reclamation operations and the <br />application requests successive renewal of the permit for an additional five year permit term. The permit <br />area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 3, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, and 34, T7S, R102W, 6th PM, all in Garfield <br />County <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Howard Canyon & <br />Garvey Canyon. <br />No additional surface disturbance and no new lands will be incorporated into the permit area as a result of <br />this permit renewal application.
