Box 773598 Director Steamboat Springs, CO 80477 Re: Proposed Decision Permit Renewal Application No. 5 (RN-5) Seneca H-W Mine (Permit No. C-1982-057) Dear Routt County Commissioners: This letter is to inform you that the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is proposing to Approve a renewal application for a coal mining and reclamation permit. The application was submitted by Seneca Coal Company, LLC on June 15, 2010, for the Seneca II-W Mine. Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the first publication of this notice by the Division in the Steamboat Pilot. The surface mine is located approximately 9 miles South of Hayden, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: T5N, R88W; All of Section 15; Portions of Sections 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 34, and 35 T6N, R8 8W; Portions of Sections 14, 23 and 24 T6N, R87W; Portions of Sections 17, 18, 19 Copies of the renewal application are available for public review in the Division offices at the above address and at the Hayden Public Library.
