PERMIT #: M-1997-061
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE: December 8, 2010
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine monitoring inspection for the Kinnie Gravel Pit, M-1997-061, a Sedgwick County 1 IOc sand
and gravel permit, conducted by Eric Scott of DRMS. DRMS traveled with Sedgwick County representative
Randy Renquist to the site, and observed the site with him at approximately 1110. The required permit sign and
permit boundary markers were observed.
The site is active at this time. Care should be taken to stay "in-bounds" as the excavation high-wall is very near
the eastern permit boundary. The secondary containment for the on-site fuel tank should also be improved.
Secondary containment for fuel tanks should be able to contain 110% of the full tank capacity and be
impermeable. Galvanized cattle water tanks are often used as secondary containment for this purpose for
smaller "temporary" fuel tanks such as the one located at this site.
No other issues were observed during this inspection.
Inspection Contact Address
Randy Renquist - Sedgwick County
223 S Cedar
Julesburg, CO 80737
