Pineda
Director
RE. RE. DOE Lease SR-15A, Notice of Intent (NOI) Application, P-2010-009, Awaiting Financial Warranty.
Dear Mr. Niesen,
The Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (DRMS) finished the review of Golden Eagle Uranium's application
for the above referenced Notice of Intent on June 7, 2010. As noted in the review correspondence the minimal
surface disturbance of the project required the minimum bond per Rule 5.3.3 of $2,000.00. Per Rule 4.2.1(6) when
mining on federal land and the land management agency requires a financial warranty be posted the amount
posted to the state shall be the difference between the amount required by the agency and the state or a
minimum of $100.00. Since a larger bond is required by the Department of Energy, the $100.00 bond is due to the
State of Colorado.
This letter is intended to notify Golden Eagle that the bond has not been posted. Per Rule 5.1.3(c), an applicant
must correct all deficiencies, including the financial warranty within 60 days of the notice of such deficiencies.
DRMS notified Golden Eagle of the financial warranty deficiency on June 7th, 2010. Clearly the 60 day period has
passed. Please submit and have all bonding documentation accepted by the DRMS Denver Office no later than
January 3, 2011. Failure to have the appropriate bond in place within 30 days may result in the notice being
denied. If there are any questions regarding those documents please contact Mary Rodriguez at 303-866-3567,
Extension 8138. As a reminder, no disturbance can begin on site until Golden Eagle receives bond acceptance and
activation documentation from the Division and provides proof of bonding with DOE.
If you need additional information please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Grand
Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, or by telephone no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
G.
