0 ameO
The following sections present a detailed description of each of the above activities.
6.1.1 Conformance Testing
Geomembrane manufactured by Poly-Flex was installed in the 2010 Phase 5 VLF. A TRI
(AMEC subcontractor) representative performed geomembrane conformance sampling at
the Poly-Flex plant in Grand Prairie, Texas. Samples were sent to TRI's geosynthetic
laboratory in Austin, Texas, for conformance testing. Geomembrane rolls were not used on
the project unless approved by AMEC based on conformance test results.
Prior to the 40-mil, 80-mil, and 100-mil geomembrane arrival to site, AMEC performed
23 conformance tests at a frequency of one test per 118,655 square feet, exceeding the
minimum specified testing frequency of one test per 150,000 square feet. Testing frequency
was based on AMEC's inventory of the 40-mil, 80-mil, and 100-mil geomembrane.
Conformance testing for the 40-mil smooth, 80-mil single-sided textured, 100-mil smooth,
• 100-mil single-sided textured, and 100-mil double-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane
used to construct the 2010 Phase 5 VLF liner system met specifications. Conformance test
results are presented in Appendix M.
6.1.2 Deployment Monitoring
Geomembrane panel deployment monitoring performed by AMEC included:
• Observation of panel surface condition and panel overlap;
• Assignment of panel numbers;
• Verification of factory roll number and receipt of complete certification
prior to allowing deployment;
• Measurement of sheet thickness;
• Documentation of deployed panel lengths; and
• Development of panel layout record drawing;
4)
AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc.
2000 S.
