• 1.4.3 Facilities Removal
The estimate for the cost of facilities removal is based on escalation of the value approved in
early 2006. A 5% escalation was applied to account for unit cost increases. The 2006 estimate is
based on data from RS Means Building Construction Cost data and information from DRMS.
1.4.4 ReveQetation
All Areas where topsoil had been placed back over disturbed ground would require the
establishment of permanent vegetation in order to prevent erosion and make the land productive
as either cropland or rangeland (refer to Section 3.6). Table 1.4 -10 summarizes the calculation of
a total revegetation cost for each post- mining land use by areas as based upon total estimated
costs per acre and the number of affected acres.
The costs per acre are detailed in Tables 1.4 -11, 12, 13, and 14 according to equipment
production costs, material costs, and estimated operating rates for each land use. The
equipment costs were based on equipment types similar to the equipment presently being utilized
at Trapper Mine for reclamation work.
1.4.5 Miscellaneous Costs
A determination of the worst case year for the reclamation bond during the five year permit term
is given in Table 1.4 -15.
Various miscellaneous costs are addressed in Appendix A. A summary of these costs is shown
in Table 1.4 -16.
•
1 -53
Revision:
II / /z //a
