• 2.05.3
Thickener
The thickener is a concrete structure where water is cleaned and returned to the wash plant.
The tank is approximately 70 feet in diameter and 10 feet high. The reinforced concrete walls
and floor are approximately 10 inches thick.
Refuse Bin
The refuse bin will be utilized to hold surges in refuse production from the wash plant and will
load refuse haul trucks. The refuse bin is constructed of structural steel and is approximately
20 feet by 20 feet by 60 feet high.
Transfer Buildings
Two transfer building are associated with the wash plant. One transfers the plant feed and
the other transfers clean coal. Both are constructed of structural steel and are 16 feet by 16
feet in plan view. The plant feed transfer building is 32 feet high. The clean coal transfer
building is 16 feet high.
Loadout Transfer Building
The loadout transfer building is a structural steel building where the reclaim belt terminates.
The coal transfers to the loadout conveyor. The dimensions of the building are approximately
20 feet by 20 feet by 45 feet high.
Loadout Structure - Batch Weigh System
• The loadout structure is a structural steel building where the loadout conveyor terminates.
The coal is batch weighed and loaded into rail cars at this location. The dimensions of the
building are approximately 30 feet by 40 feet by 120 feet high.
Railroad Track
Unit trains will approach the loadout from the west and switch off the mainline to the south
and enter the lead track. The lead track is approximately 8240 -feet long. There is also a
parallel storage track that is 3,570 feet long. Approximately 2800 -feet of mainline track was
relocated to facilitate construction of the loadout.
Pipe Under Gob Pile No. 3
A temporary 6 -inch diameter pipe located under gob pile number 3 to convey pond discharge
water to an undisturbed drainage. The permanent plan is to route the pond discharge water
around gob pile no. 3. The permanent plan will not be implemented for many years.
Conveyor Underpasses
Three conveyor underpasses were constructed for the downhill conveyor project. One is
located on the portal bench. The second is located immediately below the downhill conveyor
transfer building. The third is located about midway along the downhill conveyor and will
serve as a wildlife overpass. A fourth conveyor underpass was constructed to provide haul
road access over the downhill conveyor to the B -Seam portal bench. The underpasses are 9-
foot diameter multi -plate and are approximately 100 -feet long. The B -Seam conveyor multi -
plate underpass is approximately 60 -feet long supported on concrete footers as shown on
Map 38. A 3,400 face square foot retaining supports the road up to and over the multi - plate.
The retaining wall is reinforced with Tensar geogrid and faced with decorative concrete block.
U
TR -67 2.05-15- 07/10
AFPRoveb
1 /tea /to
