November 23, 2010
2
the Division of Water Resources after plugging each well. It appears that several other residential wells
are located within the proposed mining area. If the applicant wishes to mine through any additional wells
during the operation the same procedure should be followed with the consent of the well owner.
Last, the applicant proposes diverting the Second Park Lateral Ditch, currently running through
the proposed mine site, through a pipeline and back to the ditch downstream of the property. The
applicant needs to coordinate any changes to the ditch with the ditch owner and the water commissioner
to ensure that the project does not injure other water users.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this project. If you have any questions, please
contact this office.
Sincerely,
Karlyn Adams
Water Resource Engineer
KAA: Fruita Loadout C-2010-088(NP).docx
cc: Bob Hurford, Division Engineer, Division 4
Aaron Todd, Water Commissioner, District 60
