Page 5, Item #9i: In a letter dated October 12, 2010, the DRMS determined that Aero 317 xanthate is NOT a
designated chemical and will NOT require an Emergency Response Plan.
Page 5, Item #9j: Exhibit C has a ground water monitoring well sampling plan that is accurate and will stand. The
small diameter of the monitoring well (2.375" dia.) provides for appropriately purging three well bore volumes with
the described bailer.
Page 5, Item #9k: VR accepts the DRMS requirement that riprap be inert, durable and non-slaking.
Page 5, Item #91: Exhibit D and the Reclamation Cost Schedule have been revised to include a 25% contingency to
the process water evaporation operation. Importing fill into the tailings beach to facilitate positive drainage will not
be necessary. As the captured water is evaporated, the embankment crest may be graded into the beach zone to level
the bench and facilitate drainage. Exhibit D has been revised to reflect this technique.
Page 5, Item #9m: This item is not applicable to the current conditions. VR will most likely not accept a limited
approval building upto the Barrier Bench level, corresponding to the top of the concrete barrier. In our last
Technical Revision submitted on November 10th, we proposed a stability enhancement design that would accept a
compromise approval condition with a buildout through Bench #2. This buildout level will have a corresponding
incremental, maximum disturbance reclamation cost estimate that can be found in the revised Exhibit D, attached.
Page 5, Item #9n: Understood. Exhibit D has provided the appropriate reclamation plan for the selected post
mining land use.
This, along with the previously submitted Technical Revision of November 10", concludes a thorough response to
all of the items contained in the DRMS' September 8th Second Adequacy Review.
