The Edna mine is a reclaimed surface mine.
Mining related activities that continue to occur on the mine site are limited to pond inspection and water
monitoring, weed management as necessary, and other maintenance activities. No personnel are on site, nor did
any mine representative meet the inspector on site. The weather was cloudy with approximately 4 inches of fresh
snow on the road, with more snow in the reclaimed areas. No plowing is being conducted on the access road. The
north gate was locked, and Chevron Mining has provided the combination to the Division. A winter storm was
moving into the area during the inspection, so the southern portion of the mine site was not inspected due to the
storm.
ROADS - Rule 4.03 ? ? There were numerous elk track in the snow near the north side of the
Moffat pit. The access road was traversable to the facilities area. A severe winter storm was moving across the
Trout Creek valley towards the mine site, so the inspection was abbreviated due to the weather conditions.
REVEGETATION - Rule 4.15 ? ? Vegetative Cover; Timing:
Vegetation is snow covered with approximately 6-8 inches of snow.
SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04:
Facilites are are snow covered and no activity appears to have occured in this area since the October 2010
inspection.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 3
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 3
