BOULDER
® 11728 Hwy 93, BoWder. Colorado 80303 Phone: 303-499-1010 Fax 303-494-5464
To: State of Colorado
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman Street
From: Randy Moulton
Plant Manager
TXI Boulder
RE: Permit No. M1988-108
Western Aggregates, Mining Report
11/4/2010
Western Aggregates TXI Boulder Permit Number 1988-108 is actively mining and
reclaiming at 11728 Hwy. 93 near Boulder, Co.
• During the year of 2010 we have maintained floors and pit benching as the
pervious year 2009. The quarry has reach permit depths in the northwest
corner.
• Currently we have approximately 25 acres of quarry opened to mining. We
may open up an additional 1-2 acres to the south in the later part of 2011 as
we push in the northwest corner. This would still keep us in our limits and
mining plan of 2009 as far as open acreage.
• With the economy in a down mode we haven't had the need to open any
more quarry area. As the economy turns we will continue our plan as stated
in 2008-2009 report.
• We still are not ready to relocate the existing pond on the south east side of
the quarry. We will look at our options on the subject in the spring of 2011.
Western Aggregates TXI is currently keeping up with slopping of the north
northwest side of the quarry as we move in the southerly direction. We will keep
moving in this direction in the year to come if needed.
Western Aggregates will continue to address the Knapp weed problem as in the
past. This year we attended seminars addressing weed problems and plan to hire or
spray on our own. This will include all of TXI Boulders/Western Aggregates leased
and fee properties.
Revised 11/10/04
