and seed mix no. 7 is for reclamation of the pasture areas. Seed mix no. 8 was presented and approved in
TR-46, in consultation with the Colorado Division of Wildlife, to satisfy Stipulation No. 14 concerning
the establishment of shrub clumps in place of having a woody plant density standard for the disturbed
areas at the mine site.
Hydrologic and subsidence monitoring will occur throughout the operational and reclamation phases of
the Bowie No. 2 Mine project. While deleterious hydrologic or subsidence-related impacts are not
anticipated, the Bowie No. 2 Mine permit application contains mitigation plans to be implemented if
negative impacts are detected.
When BRL submitted Permit Revision No. 10, the proposed mine plan extended northward in the vicinity
of the Bruce Park Dam and Terror Creek Reservoir. The Division required an extensive seismic,
subsidence and hydrologic review and monitoring program for the approval of PR-10. These reports and
monitoring requirements were updated so that they applied to the revised mine plan approved in PR-11.
However, mining in accordance with the new mine plan to the north had to be curtailed due to difficult
mining conditions. Therefore, PR-12 was submitted to revise the permit to include the curtailment of
mining to the north and the incorporation of an expanded permit area and associated mine plan to the
west.
22
