Pineda <br />Director <br />RE: Trapper Mining, Inc., Permit C-1981-010 <br />Third Quarter 2010 Sediment Pond Inspections <br />Dear Mr. Puls: <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division) has reviewed and found the above referenced <br />report to be in compliance with the following regulations, <br />4.05.9(14)(b) - The impoundment has been maintained as designed, in accordance with the approved <br />plan and the applicable regulations. <br />4.05.9(l5) - Certified inspection reports shall include: Any appearance of erosion, instability, <br />structural weakness or other hazardous conditions. <br />4.05.9(17) - All impoundments shall be examined at least quarterly by a qualified person designated <br />by the operator, for appearance of structural weakness and other hazardous conditions. <br />4.05.9(17) - A copy of the report shall be submitted to the Division on a quarterly basis. <br />The third quarter sediment pond inspection reports were received by the Division on October 25, 2010. Sediment pond <br />inspections were conducted by TMI between September 21 and September 30, 2010. <br />From the inspection reports, the identified maintenance items include: replacement of identification signs for No Name <br />#2, Middle Flume #1, and Horse #1; repair of the riser for No Name #4; grading work for Ute #1; and filling of burrows <br />on the face of the Industrial Waste Pond. <br />Please continue to monitor the sediment markers to determine if any need to be replaced.
