This is Irrigated farming - livestock unit OWna
by Frank Morgan. It is located 2 miles west
and 1 mile north of Nucla four corners. Also
know in part as the Sunshine Ranch.
The present land use is irrigated gra.PA-
legume mixtures for pasture and hayland;
corn and small grain crop land and livestock
grazing on rangeland. The summer rangeland
is located on the benchlands on the north-
east aide of the Little Cone. Winter range
land is south of Nucla along both sides of
Colorado 97 and south of the Nucla airport.

Corn and small grain will be grown in rotatio

and the stubble will be plowed in for mulch
and to protect from erosion.

Plant residue will be left on the field to
improve soil condition and control erosion.
Fertilizer will be used in increasing pro-
duction.

Irrigation Water Management
Irrigation water will be applied to meet the
need of the plants and to prevent erosion.
The length of run as determined by soil, slop
and crop Reeds will be from 200 ft, to 500 ft
Approximately three gallons per minute will
be appiied for a period of about III hours.
Tire crops will require irrigation about every
13 to 15 days. Water will be applied. in
corrigations and will be kept to a. mininmm
amount of runoff.
